Window Summary – Bieber Windows were chosen for quality, aesthetic appeal, and performance. No more than 50% of window area on East and West Side than South and North. Two wall assemblies are extra-insulated to make up for substantially high glazing proportion.
Installed by hand

Special care was taken to provide a thermal-bridge-free and airtight installation.

Solitex Mento was applied continuously on both sides of window and windowall frames.
Airtightness wrap was taped right to the sheathing.
Gaps and nail holes in sheathing were sealed.
Sheathing was then covered with Solitex Mento and Tescon Vana tape. Furring strips were nailed into exterior of ICFs.
The trick to installing windows in a Passive House is to make sure the geometric middle of the R-Value of the window lines up with the geometric R-Value of the wall. Such an installation will ensure that the wall assembly will remain at constant temperature, with no cold spots, from inside to out.
